Group calls for support for Buhari

WARRI—Nigeria Youth Project Monitoring Initiative, NYPMI, has urged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari in his anti-corruption drive to sanitise the already battered economy.

National President of the body, Hon. Amos Osigidi, who made the call when he addressed newsmen, yesterday, in Warri, Delta State, said the president within the short period he took over the reigns of governance, had proved to Nigerians that he “is out to correct the ills plaguing the country,” insisting that the laudable effort must not die.
He contended that the decay in infrastructure development was traceable to the mass corruption and sub-standard jobs prevailing in the country, adding: “Nigeria is not supposed to be suffering as a result of non-existent infrastructure development considering the huge financial allocation for such projects.”
According to him, Nigerian youths have vowed to assist the three tiers of governments as well as security agencies to curtail corruption through strict monitoring of projects awarded.
“A team of engineers will go round the various project sites and report their findings to the Presidency, state governments and security agencies. We are poised to eliminate all forms of corrupt practices, including sub-standard jobs,” said the national president.
Hon. Osigidi, however, stressed that actualisation of projects is a collective responsibility of all Nigerians, explaining that all hands must be on deck in order to achieve this laudable effort.
“We should put political sentiment and ethnic differences aside and work assiduously to make Nigeria great.”
