There are indications that some members of the Peoples
Democratic Party have decided to pull out of the PDP to float a new mega
party.
Leadership reports that Chief Perry Opara, the spokesman of the proposed new party, confirmed this
indication and revealed that a special meeting had been held in respect to the formation of the party.
He noted that the meeting attracted reasonable turnout and members canvassed the formation of a movement that will provide a voice for the masses.
According to Opara, who was Nigeria’s first national chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, the PDP can no longer be a credible opposition party.
He explained that the party’s members are disappointed that the umbrella of PDP has torn beyond repairs and the house is infected. Therefore, the image of PDP is presently irredeemable, he concluded.
