Shehu Sani set to join PDP

At the wake of the 11 months suspension slammed on the senator representing Kaduna central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, by the Tudun Wada ward of the All Progressives Congress, APC, over allegations of anti-party activities, sources within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have confirmed plans to lure the comrade senator into their party.

“Sani’s suspension is good for us, because majority of the people in Kaduna like him, and he has a lot of following amongst religious leaders. We are currently making attempts to have him join us, a PDP stalwart in the state told Post Nigeria.

The state arm of the APC was said to have been irked by Sani’s comments on President Mohammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade. As he was reported to have said that Buhari’s war on corruption was selective. Few weeks back, the party has summoned Sani before a disciplinary committee meeting to explain his unprecedented attacks against members of his party.

Sani however refused to honour the invitation to appear before the committee on the grounds that the APC in Kaduna state had lost its footing since it did not have any recognizable leadership, maintaining that some people were “acting the script of the state government.”

The ward chapter of the party in a letter addressed to the senator announced suspended Sani for 11 months and prohibited him from partaking in or attending the party’s activities.

Sani in a reply to his party over the suspension slammed on him stated that, he would continue criticising and making life difficult for the APC and the governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai.

The senator took to his Twitter handle and Facebook page to react to the news of his suspension by his party.
