Pavel Srnicek
A former Newcastle United goalkeeper, Pavel Srnicek has died after suffering a cardiac arrest in Czech Republic.
The 47-year-old retired goalkeeper had earlier suffered a cardiac
arrest during his morning exercise routine, the paramedics rushed him to
the hospital where he was taken to the intensive care unit after an
induced coma. He gave up the ghost nine days later.
He played for West Ham United in the EPL, and was loved by many during his time at the St. James Park between 1991 and 1998.
Amongst other teams in the EPL, he played for Sheffield Wednesday,
and Portsmouth. He was capped 49 times by his country, Czech Republic.
However, his agent, Steve Wraith said “irreversible damage” was
discovered after his brain was scanned and that he “had to be taken” off
the life support machine.
“Pav passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, 29 December 2015, with his family by his side.”
