Wike pledges support for Buhari’s programmes

GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said that he will support any policy of the Federal Government that will promote the good of the state. Wike Wike The governor spoke at Government House, Port Harcourt, when the local study group from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, paid him a courtesy visit.
The governor said he will not play politics with matters that have to do with the wellbeing of the state, stressing that he was not in office as governor for unnecessary politicking. He said: “I will support any policy of the Federal Government that will enhance the living standard of the people of Rivers State. It doesn’t matter who initiated such policy, as long as it will favour our people.” Promising that his government will support NIPPS in its research into the alleviation of poverty, Wike also enjoined the Federal Government to implement recommendations of the body so far on poverty alleviation.
